Research Interests
My general research interest lies in learning and memory. My background is based in human sleep and memory research with a focus on sex differences, patients with psychiatric diseases and fMRI approaches. Currently, I am interested in systems memory consolidation especially concerning the effect of prior knowledge and schemes. For my research I will use the paired-associates task in the event arena with behavioural, pharmacological and molecular biological approaches. Further I remain interested in translational research approaches of how to bridge the gap between basic animal research and human application.
