Research Interests
I am interested in the molecular processes underpinning the active decay of memory, a well-regulated process thought to have a major role in everyday forgetting. I will also be focusing on why some memories are stronger and more long-lasting than others, such as those surrounding emotional events, and what makes these long-lasting memories more resistant to active decay. My research will utilise various behavioural tasks; in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology; and molecular biology to modulate the rate of memory decay and elucidate active decay mechanisms.
